Cobbler.bd is a leather goods shop in Dhaka, Bangladesh. This page explains what we collect when you visit cobbler-bd.com or order from us, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. In short: we use your details only to deliver your order, and we never sell them.
What we collect
When you place an order:
- your mobile number (required),
- your name, district and delivery address,
- your email address, only if you choose to give it,
- any note you add, and the order itself: items, sizes, colours and amounts.
We don’t take card details. You pay in cash when the parcel arrives.
Like most websites, our server also records basic technical details (such as your IP address and browser) to keep the site running and secure. To stop fake orders, we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for about 10 minutes after you check out.
Why we use it
- To deliver your order and collect payment on delivery.
- To contact you about your order, including exchanges and refunds.
- To prevent fake orders and keep the shop secure.
- To keep the sales records the law requires.
Order confirmation calls
Before we send a parcel, we call the mobile number you gave to confirm the order. We may also message you on WhatsApp about your order. We use your number only for your orders.
If you gave an email address, we send order updates there too. Without one, you won’t get any emails from us.
Who we share it with
- Steadfast Courier, our delivery partner: your name, mobile number, address and the amount to collect, so they can deliver your parcel.
- Payment providers (for example bKash), only if you pay online when we offer it.
- The companies that host our website and email, which store data for us and may not use it for anything else.
- Government authorities, only when the law requires it.
We never sell or rent your data, and we don’t share it for anyone else’s advertising.
Cookies
We use cookies that the shop needs to work: to remember your cart, to keep you signed in if you have an account, and to complete checkout.
Our shop software also notes how you reached us (for example from Facebook or a search engine) and saves it with your order, so we know which of our pages and posts help. This uses cookies on our own site only and is not shared with anyone.
We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and there are no Facebook or Google scripts on this site. If we add the Meta (Facebook) Pixel for advertising in the future, we will update this page to say so before we switch it on.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as the law requires for sales and accounting. Other personal data is deleted when we no longer need it.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Message us from the mobile number you ordered with, or email us, and tell us what you’d like. We may need to keep some order records where the law requires it; we’ll tell you if so.
How we protect it
Only the Cobbler.bd team can see order details, and our shop accounts are protected with two-step sign-in.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
